Ability Score Modifiers Dungeon Crawl Classic

Hi I would like to know what is the best mathematical function to calculate the ability score for Dungeon Crawl Classics.
The closest function I could get was floor (Str / 2-4). However, Value 8 has the modifier -1.

Ability score - DCC modifiers.

3 = -3
4 = -2
5 = -2
6 = -1
7 = -1
8 = -1
9 = 0
10 = 0
11 = 0
12 = 0
13 = +1
14 = +1
15 = +1
16 = +2
17 = +2
18 = +3

Hi @PilotodeMouse

You might just have to build it as a Ternary. Simpler than trying to figure out the math.

Here’s what I use for my DCC sheet (WIP) stats, e.g. for the Strength mod:

Str > 17 ? +3 : Str > 15 ? +2 : Str > 12 ? +1 : Str > 8 ? +0 : Str > 5 ? -1 : Str > 3 ? -2 : -3

Not the prettiest, but gets the job done.

Glad to be of help! Feels like there’s a half dozen of us working on DCC sheets at the same time :laughing:

Indeed ! But i think i’m alone on the french one :slight_smile:

I wonder if it could be possible to submit an official sheet on astral. DCC seems easy to code for a template with multi pages : a first one for level 0 character and, for level 1, just add a page with class features.
I’ve made some test with mine, it works but need improvments.

The most tricky thing actually on my side is the warrior’s deed die. I’m not able to find how to respect the rules with the same roll for attack and damage roll in an action. So, it’s not the same roll on my game, not really a problem, but not enough accurate for rules-lovers.
